We are thrilled to congratulate Yvonne and fellow RT and ORCS member Dave Wall and her team for these incredible strides in the The Code Life Ventilator Challenge. a joint project between The Montreal General Hospital Foundation and the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Center the race was to design a low-cost, simple, easy-to-use and easy-to-build ventilator that can serve the COVID patients, in an emergency timeframe.
Their team, Fanshawe-Toyota-RT are one of nine in the running out of 2639 Participants on 1029 teams from 94 countries across the world! The team is rounded out by, Engineers Leon Drasovean (Yvonne’s husband) Moe Bdeir, Chris Loates and Daniel Adam.
Yvonne is also the chair of the Ontario Respiratory Care Society Editorial Board.and Professor at Fanshawe College, School of Health Sciences. We want to thank her for all of her amazing work and wish her all the best in the Challege going forward!
